Brandon Ream
Owner, PT, DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy)

Brandon opened MVP in 2010 after working various orthopedic settings, including a franchise corporate PT company. He is a graduate of Gettysburg College (PA); earned his Master of Physical Therapy from ODU in 1999; and completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in 2014. Brandon set out to build a community-based practice that is focused on the customer experience and the highest level of treatment available. In 2017 he opened the second location in the West End. His interests outside of work include being in the outdoors, either hunting or on the water, and spending time with his wife Elizabeth and their three wonderful daughters.
Melanie Springston
PTA (Physical Therapist Assistant)

Melanie is a licensed physical therapist assistant and graduate of Penn State University. She has always been interested in the medical field, and after experiencing PT with a family friend, knew that was the career she wanted to pursue. Melanie enjoys working with patients of all ages and helping them overcome their challenges and return to all the things they need and love to do. In her free time, Melanie enjoys scuba diving, Orangetheory fitness, paddle boarding, board games/puzzles, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Indrani Agarwal

Indrani earned her bachelor's degree from VT, and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has spent most of her career in outpatient orthopedics and has continued to focus her continuing education and expertise in advancing her manual therapy skills for a hands-on approach to rehab while also incorporating her strong clinical background in exercise and wellness to restore pain free mobility and function. Indrani has developed a dynamic treatment approach that integrates therapeutic exercise with joint mobilization, soft tissue manipulation, posture education and body mechanics training. In her free time, Indrani enjoys family time, traveling, skiing, hiking and exercising.
Alexa Crump
PTA (Physical Therapist Assistant)

Alexa earned her Bachelor’s degree from Longwood University, and her Physical Therapist Degree from ECPI. Alexa was previously a PT technician at MVP, and returned to school for her PTA licensure after discovering her love for treating patients and helping them achieve their goals. She especially enjoys treating sports injuries and gait and balance training. In her free time, Alexa enjoys camping, live music, playing with her perfect dog, and participating in anything on the water.
Grant Baker
PT Technician

Grant earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in kinesiology. He first realized he wanted to pursue a career in PT after his own ACL/meniscus tear as a teen. The kindness and care he was given in that setting drives him to want to be that kind of person to others. His professional interests include pediatric sports injuries, general orthopedics, and functional strength training. In his free time, Grant enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing sports (especially volleyball and basketball) and playing video games with his friends.

Melissa Truong, MVP Therapy’s Billing Coordinator, has been a medical biller since 2005. She LOVES working for our patients’ best interest by keeping insurance claims correctly processed. Melissa is happily married and is Mom to a wonderful son. For outdoor fun, she and her family enjoy biking, hiking, and swimming. When indoors, you will find them spending time with Baby the Cat and enjoying family movie nights.

Cathy S, Midlothian Front Office Coordinator, came to MVP with extensive experience in front office roles in the medical field, and has been a valuable addition to our team.
She is a history enthusiast, and is particularly interested women’s history. In her free time, Cathy enjoys cooking and painting with watercolors and acrylics.
Karen Myers

Karen earned her Bachelor’s degree from JMU, and her Master of Science in Physical Therapy (MSPT) from Duke University. Karen joined MVP Therapy in 2012, bringing years of outpatient orthopedic experience to our team. She enjoys treating patients of all ages with various musculoskeletal injuries and dysfunctions. Using manual therapy techniques, individualized exercise programs, and particular emphasis on posture and body mechanics, Karen strives to provide an exceptional clinical experience for each of her patients. In her spare time Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, baking, exercising, volunteering at her church, and cheering for the Denver Broncos and Duke Blue Devils.
Haneef Crews

Haneef Crews graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Kinesiology. As a former soccer player, he experienced firsthand the impact that quality rehabilitation can have after an injury. Those experiences inspired him to pursue a career in physical therapy, where he hopes to make the same difference in the lives of others.
Haneef enjoys connecting with patients and creating a welcoming environment that supports their recovery and overall well-being. He believes that every patient deserves compassionate care and encouragement throughout their rehabilitation journey. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys experimenting with new cooking recipes, gaming, and watching supernatural and suspenseful TV shows. He is excited to continue growing in the field as he works toward his goal of becoming a Physical Therapist.
Kelleen Thornock

Kelleen is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and graduate of South University who joined the MVP team with experience in both outpatient and skilled nursing rehabilitation. She is passionate about treating each person holistically, focusing on each individual’s unique needs rather than just the injury, and finds joy in helping them get back to the things they love. Kelleen also manages our marketing team and appreciates being able to form partnerships and relationships in the community and developing content for our social media platforms. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 4 children, salsa dancing, walks in nature, and reading.

Sarah graduated as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Tech and became a part of the MVP Therapy team in 2010 (the same year we opened our doors!). Sarah enjoys working with patients as a member of the clinical team and managing our scheduling, staffing and daily operations. She also contributes to the marketing and public relations team at MVP. In her free time, Sarah enjoys cooking, traveling, exploring Richmond, and spending time with friends and family.
Marissa Boutin

Marissa Boutin, PT, DPT, earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University and has been working in Winchester, VA, in the outpatient physical therapy setting until her recent move to Richmond and joining our team.
Specializing in the treatment of orthopedic injuries, Marissa utilizes a combination of manual therapy, dry needling, and targeted exercise to help patients restore function and alleviate pain. With a strong interest in vestibular rehabilitation, Marissa also addresses balance disorders and vertigo, working to improve patients’ quality of life.
When not in the clinic, Marissa enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, getting lost in a good book, baking, and playing pickleball.Marissa is dry needling certified.
Shawn Lambert

Shawn received both her Bachelor’s degree and Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree from Ohio University. She started her career in the Atlanta area in outpatient sports medicine and rehabilitation clinics before relocating to the Seattle area where she worked at a hospital based outpatient clinic for 7 years. Shawn moved to VA in 2015 to be closer to extended family and enjoys calling Richmond home. Shawn’s professional interests include spine disorders, balance/neurological problems, and general orthopedics. In her free time, Shawn enjoys engaging in most outdoor activities, and spending time with family.
Grant Silvestri

Grant is a Richmond local who graduated from Freeman High School before moving on to receive his degree in Athletic Training from George Mason University, and then his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from VCU.
Grant first discovered his interest in movement as medicine when, as a high school athlete (track & field, soccer, and wrestling), he sustained a shoulder injury which required rehab and exposed him to the field.
As an athletic trainer, Grant enjoyed working on the field and responding to injuries to keep athletes safe. He worked with Division 1 soccer athletes, as well as performing tournament coverage for USA Soccer, USA Volleyball, USA Field Hockey, USA Gymnastics, and USA Tennis.
Now, as a PT, Grant continues to enjoy working with athletes of all ages, particularly with soccer athletes, post-concussion patients, and weekend warriors trying to return to activity. He appreciates the outpatient setting and the ability to give back to the community by building relationships with his patients and helping them achieve their goals.
Outside of the clinic, you’ll find Grant outside; playing pickleball, listening to live music, rock climbing, trail running, or hiking with his wife and dogs around the river. He is also an avid gardener and forager who likes to cook the delectables he grows or finds!
Vera Lavrentyeva

Vera graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Exercise and Health Sciences .
She grew up wanting to work in the healthcare field and after many years of sports and countless PT visits, she realized sports medicine, specifically physical therapy, was her passion.
Vera enjoys helping people restore function and comfort in everyday tasks or sports. She also enjoy bringing positive energy and kindness to the clinic everyday.
Outside of the clinic, Vera is a certified Water Safety Instructor, and loves teaching people of all ages how to swim and improve technique. She also enjoys traveling, hiking, cooking and watching tv.
Darren Creary

Darren earned his Bachelor’s degree from VCU, and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Howard University. After 2 ACL tears of his own earlier in life, Darren discovered he loved the relationship PT’s are able to build with their patients and decided to pursue it as his career. He enjoys developing individualized plans for each patient based on their needs and seeing them achieve their goals. He enjoys working with all ages and especially likes treating knees, hips, and ankles. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, listening to podcasts, working out at the gym, or even playing quadball (a.k.a quidditch).
Silvia Contreras

Silvia joined the MVP team in 2019; she loves this profession and enjoys helping patients improve after an illness or injury. She completed her education and licensure as a physiotherapist in Colombia, South America in 2005. She worked in the cardiovascular and orthopedics areas with an emphasis on hand and upper limb rehabilitation. Silvia’s deep knowledge and experience of the field is combined with her ability to assist Spanish speaking patients during their therapy visits. “En MVP therapy hablamos español, para que puedas realizar con toda confianza tu proceso de rehabilitación.” Silvia enjoys walking, playing, and watching movies with her husband and two children.
Rose Schmidt
West End Front Office Coordinator

Rose has always liked helping people in need and chose to work for MVP because she wanted to be an advocate for patients’ wellness. She likes to make sure patients are ready to go prior to their appointments and that everything is squared away before they walk out of our office. She loves the feeling when a patient walks in our door that they don’t feel like a number, but more like family. She feels that the care and compassion our company gives is above and beyond. She loves knowing that patients are taken care of and walk out with a smile. Outside of work, Rose enjoys hiking, biking, and swimming with her husband Marc. She also loves taking her German Shepherd Diesel for walks in the park and has a passion for painting with acrylic paints.
Sherryl Taylor

With a passion for helping people build healthier, stronger lives, Sherryl brings extensive experience in fitness, wellness, nutrition, and behavior change coaching. She is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Nutrition Coach, Behavior Change Specialist, Weight Loss Specialist, Senior Fitness Specialist, Women's Fitness Specialist, and Virtual Coaching Specialist. She is also an AFAA Group Fitness Instructor.
Sherryl's diverse background includes teaching Mat Pilates, indoor cycling, strength training, dance fitness, and aquatic fitness, as well as working as a health coach in a clinical setting. She believes lasting results come from combining movement, nutrition, education, and sustainable behavior change.
Outside of coaching, Sherryl enjoys gardening and walking with her miniature poodle, Joy. She is passionate about helping others discover the joy of movement and build healthy habits for a vibrant, active life.
Kendall Moody
PT Technician

Kendall is a junior at VCU majoring in Exercise Science with a pre-PT minor.
When she attended physical therapy for her own injury, she loved working with her therapists. Later on, she had the privilege of going on a medical mission trip and felt compelled to pursue a career in patient care. These two experiences lead her to choose physical therapy!
Kendall enjoys getting to know and encouraging patients. She also enjoys learning how the therapists develop creative recovery programs.
Outside of the clinic, you can find her playing tennis, traveling and finding new coffee shops!
